We Made It!

We'll we made it to Baltimore safe and sound! So much has happened in the course of the month. We arrived in Maryland after a long 40 hour drive with just ourselves and our poor car, that packed all our belongings. Once we got settled in our Hotel, the apartment hunting began. We spent serveral days looking at apartment after apartment trying to find something that would be close enough to Nick's school and that would also be in a safe neighborhood.
It seemed the harder we looked the less luck we had in finding a place to live. At this time this was when some funny things happened. We decided to go to church on the following Sunday: to as many wards as possible. Thinking this would increase our chances in finding some contacts within the church. We were running a little late to the first meeting that day so we snuck around the back to avoid distracting anyone. Nick and I sat next to this guy that after a time Nick swore he knew. Turns out Nick did know him, Brother Brian Geurts had Nick and his companion over every week for dinner while Nick was on his mission serving in the Washington D.C. To make things even more ironic, Brother Geurts was supposed to be driving that very morning to meet his family on vacation in North Carolina, but unfortunatly his motorcycle had broken down and as a result he attended church and ran in to us.
Brother Geurts and his family invited us to stay at their house for the remainder of our search, they fed us and gave us a place to sleep and it was the best experience for us to receive such kindness and service.
One week later we found a great apartment complex to move into, its called Fairways at Towson. We live in a one bedroom apartment that is bigger than our last apartment which was our only goal. Our apartment is in a highrise building on the eighth floor. We love it. I currently work at our apartment complex which was also a blessing seeing that it is a short elevater ride away. Nick started school 2 weeks ago and has been very busy with his internship and 3 hour long classes. We are having a blast here in Baltimore we love everything about it but we deeply miss our family and friends. We love you and will see you soon.

The lengths Nick will go to!

Ok we are officially the Ghettoest Apartment in the complex Nick has created an ingenious structure. The night I took this picture was a playoff game between the L.A. Lakers and Orlando Magic a must see mainly be Nick wanted the Magic To win (He Hates the Lakers and So do I). This makeshift tower designed for the reception for our local channels was contructed out of books magazines end tables filing boxes and who know what else. I had to take this!! However we did get to see the game and it came in crystal clear to bad the Magic Lost. :(

Nick Graduated!

Today was such a fun day, all of Nick's family came and most of mine came to celebrate with us. Thank you everyone for coming and sharing this special day with us. Although it was a long day I think that everyone had a blast. After Nick received his diploma (cover) he headed outside for some pictures and then we left for the party. We seriously had so much food it was awesome it was great thanks to the family. Everyone ate and played pool, the wii and PlayStation. Nick got a couple of presents; a new phone, and the new James Bond on Blue ray to watch on his brand new PlayStation 3 lucky duck and also a 50 inch plasma TV from me that he got about a month ago but it was initially for graduation. Lots of fun. Thanks again for everyone that came and those that didn't we still love you!

Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland! It's official thats where were headed! We leave the first week of August, 2009. School starts August 31st. Nick and I are so excited to move we will miss every one so much but this is such a great opprotunity for us. Living in a Big City is going to be so fun we are just 3 hours from New York, and right by the ocean and there is going to be so many fun things to do.
I'm not excited for the drive 40 hours in a car all by my self while Nick is driving in front of me in the Penski truck all by him self, we just might go insane.

Well since I love Nick so much I really wanted to do something for him that will express my love and devotion for him and also honor March Madness (that has completely consumed him...) He is such a hard worker and I'm so proud that hes graduating from college next month. I have decided to dedicate this next months Backgrounds to him. Though I will be limited in choices just know that I am putting forth a conscience effort. Here you go Baby I Love You!

Happy Holidays

What a month not only was it Christmas and the New Year but we also celebrated my 21st birthday and our anniversary! It was an exciting month for us we have been married for one year now and still going strong. Nick totally surprised me and took me to salt lake City for my birthday, we went to dinner at P.F. Changs and attended a Play at the Hale theater. (The Christmas Carol) it was definitely a memorable birthday.
For Christmas we got to go back to Washington and see the family, although the weather was horrible we made it to and from Washington safely. Nick made out like a fat rat he got an Ipod Video Classic and Guitar Hero with 2 guitars. We also got allot of food storage and emergency preparedness items from my parents, for some reason I got the impression that my mom might be afraid the world is coming to an end.

Well it has been a fun break from school despite all the working, but school starts up next week and we have to get down to business again. Nick is finishing up his applications for Graduate school I don't think it will ever end its such a long process. We're excited to move to a different place soon and be done with school finally.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
